Watch these boats being launched with our Sublift in this time-lapsed video

You may have seen our big blue Sublift (called Suzy) moving around site here at Trafalgar Wharf in Portsmouth, but what is this machine used for, and what happens on a typical day in our boatyard?

You know that boats are lifted and launched, but have you seen Suzy in action for yourself?

Watch this quick time-lapsed video made by Tom Harding, Equipment Manager here at The Trafalgar Wharf Group, showing what a typical day looks like in our boatyard.  As you can see, Suzy and her operators are super efficient.

She is suitable for lifting and launching motorboats and sail boats up to 24 tonnes and 18m in length.

Why not come to Trafalgar Wharf in Portsmouth to see her in action for yourself.

If you need to do some maintenance on your boat and want to save money, we are offering free storage ashore for your first 30 days (between now and August 2017).  All you pay for is your lift out and re-launch.

Call Corinne now for a quote on 02392 387833.

The Trafalgar Wharf Group is also home to the UK's largest indoor drystack, suitable for storing powerboats, motor yachts and RIBs from 4 to 12 meters in length.  Check out The Drystck for more information.

It's going to be sunny this weekend - here are some great day trips in the Solent

The summer is finally here (we think!) and we're loving it. With the arrival of the sun, there is no better time to get out on your boat and enjoy it. So, I thought I would give you some ideas of fantastic day trips around the Solent for you and your family.

Yarmouth
Yarmouth town is located in the western Solent and has main ferry services operating from its harbour. Yarmouth is known locally as being a great spot for fishing and the harbour is always busy with ferries and small boats. During the summer, Yarmouth Castle is the perfect place to visit for fantastic sea views and family picnics. It will take you approximately 2 hours to reach Yarmouth from Trafalgar Wharf at an average cruising speed.

Lymington
Lymington is a Georgian market town located on the southern edge of the New Forest. There are two large marinas giving you plenty of places to berth. Lymington has a large number of shops, boutiques, restaurants and pubs so you have a great choice of places to go for a relaxing day exploring the town. Lymington is around a 2.5 hour cruise from Trafalgar Wharf.

Hamble
The Hamble River is a picturesque, quiet river at the entrance to Southampton Water with plenty of pubs and marinas dotted along its length. Hamble Point Marina at the mouth of the river has a chandlery, plenty of berths and a pub called the Ketch Rigger, a great choice for a Sunday lunch.

For an afternoon of shopping and a leisurely pub lunch, you can visit Hamble-le-Rice, a village full of cobbled streets and fine dining.

Much further along the Hamble is Swanwick Marina with plenty of pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area as well as the Boat House CafĂ© in the marina itself. The Hamble is around 1 hours cruise from Trafalgar Wharf.
Wherever you go this weekend, have a brilliant time :)
