England Win The World Cup And Solent Boaters Get Free Storage

Here's a copy of a press release that we sent out today:

Boat lovers will be rubbing their hands together when England lifts the World Cup Trophy in Russia in July, thanks to Jonny Boys, Managing Director at Portchester-based Trafalgar Wharf.
Jonny is offering to refund the entire drystack fee for a year when England win.
“England won the under-17 World Cup in October hammering Spain 5-2 in the final. With the senior team qualified for the main tournament in Russian they’ll go there without any pressure. Leicester won the Premier League and no-one expected it.  England might do the same.”
“When anyone new comes in and signs up for The Drystack before the tournament kicks-off, we’ll refund 100% of their fees when England wins the tournament in Russian.”

Anyone who fancies storing their boat at the Solent’s (and Europe’s) largest fully indoor drystack should head on down to Trafalgar Wharf to take a look at the facility. Boats are stored inside, away from the harsh elements.
As Jonny says, “The Drystack is the best way of storing and launching your boat. You simply let us know when you want it, we take the boat out of storage, get it ready for you and hand you the keys. It’s the complete valet service. Then when you come back in, hand us the keys, we’ll wash it down with fresh water and store it securely indoors. There are an unlimited amount of launches so you never have any hassle.”
If you think England might just do it and want to get a big refund if they do call 02392 706384 and take a look at The Drystack at Portchester. It’s convenient and has plenty of free parking, showers and a café on site.

Classic cars take time out at Trafalgar Wharf before travelling to Grand Prix Historique in France.

Trafalgar Wharf played host to hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of classic motors when the Manx Classic Car Club stopped off before heading to France last week.

We’re used to seeing Super Yachts and high-performance RIBs at Trafalgar, but there’s something special about an E-Type Jaguar in perfect condition that you just can’t compare.

We invited the car club, which was formed in 1973 and has 130 members, to a grand tour of The Drystack and marina. With the café on site ...and plenty of parking, it proved to be a great secure stop-off for the owners of Ferraris, Jaguars and Porsches.

The club had driven down from Liverpool during the day and were heading off via the Portsmouth ferry to join up with the classic Grand Prix de Pau Historique, which takes place in the beautiful city of Pau at the base of the Pyrenees.

The Grand Prix de Pau Historique is one the favourites on the Historic Motor racing calendar with the oldest and most exciting of the remaining street circuits.

We’re always trying to attract people to Trafalgar Wharf, not just for the marine business, but also for our other facilities. With car parking, café, toilets, showers, offices and indoor facilities, we’re here for everyone who wants a flexible space, even just for a day.

With Super Yachts and ferries being refurbished, a busy Boat Club, and a RIB sales company, the old Vosper Thorneycroft site is flourishing and continues to bring new business to Portchester.

Are you interested in leisure boating? Look what we can do for you.

Here's a quick video of what we do here at The Trafalgar Wharf Group, and what we can offer people who are interested in leisure boating in and around The Solent.
You may have thought that we 'just store boats' at Trafalgar Wharf - but there is most certainly more going on here than meets the eye.
Watch this quick video where Jonny, our MD, explains in less than 4 minutes what we really do.  You'll be surprised.

Trafalgar Wharf Shipyard Offers Ship Owners Total Flexibility For Refits And Refurbishment With “Hire Only” Model.

Jonny Boys, MD at Trafalgar Wharf, has never been shy when breaking the mould.
His new model for his shipyard, where owners bring in their own repair and refit teams, rather than being tied into the shipyard operator, is his new strategy to grow the business at Portchester.
“I’ve taken the shipyard back in house,” said Jonny. “Owners want to get the best price and quality from ship repair and refurbishment companies. The best way to do that is competitive tendering. There are not many shipyards where you can bring in your own independent teams, but owners want choice and the control that brings.”
Being able to just hire the shipyard and control the project gives the owner the upper hand.
“Once a ship is in dock, you can’t just move it if things aren’t going well. But when you hire the shipyard only, it’s easy to make changes if a contractor isn’t performing. That’s unrivalled flexibility.”
Jonny’s brought in one of the most experience Dockmasters in the country to ensure owners get the best service possible. Chris Hems has carried out more than 300 lift outs and dockings for the US Army, Testbank Ship Repair and Burgess Marine, as well as working in partnerships with Wightlink car ferries, and Brittany Ferries Normandie Express at the 4000t Syncrolift in Cherbourg.
“We’ve got all the facilities owners need,” said Chris. “We’re a 24hr working facility, with on site workshops to hire, mess rooms and office space available. We’re also very clear in our pricing structure so owners know what they are getting.”
The shipyard has had a successful period of growth with several Super Yachts. There has been ‘Shemara’, Owned by Sir Charles Dunstone and ‘Lady A’ owned by Lord Alan Sugar as well as a regular client base of Wightlink, Gosport Ferries and Serco who dock many of the Portsmouth Naval Dockyard support ships.
Chris, together with his dedicated and experienced team can handle a huge range of vessels. Whether a super yacht, dredger, working barge, tug or house boat, the only limiting factors are the overall length up to 60m, the beam up to 14m, the draft up to 4.6m. The permissible limit using the docking cradle is 877 tons, although we can take more depending on the ship’s configuration

For bookings and more information please contact Chris Hems, Shipyard Manager, Trafalgar Shipyard. E:  M: +44(0)7713565045.

Claws up if you like sea-food!

What are you doing this May Bank Holiday weekend?
If you have nothing planned then why not take a trip to The Salcombe Crab Festival.   Enjoy beautiful Salcombe and of course their famous 'Crab Fest'.  Click here for more information.
JBT Marine (who are part of the Trafalgar Wharf Group and who are based here with us in Portsmouth) are taking some of their Ballistic RIBs over to the festival to show off.  So, if you're in the market for a new boat then pop in and see them.

They'll be showing their new 'Tangoed' Ballistic 5.5m RIB, the Ballistic 4.3m RIB and the Ballistic 7.8m RIB (which is shown below).

But if you're just in the market for a good time and a crabby bite to eat then enjoy the day. Fingers crossed for sun-shine.
